- Meeting with parents, reporting on children’s progress: A parents evening is held on a quarterly basis when report cards go out. However, if a teacher or parent have any concerns a separate meeting throughout the year can be arranged.
- How programmes are developed and reviewed: Minnieland follows the GED curriculum and visit schools in the area to make sure we are up to standard. At the end of the year teachers receive the themes planned for the following year. Teachers prep files are prepared in advance on a termly basis and reviewed by the Principal. Prep files are kept at school and are always available in case a teacher is off ill so staff can continue the activities for the day or week. Report cards are done on a quarterly basis. Teachers will then set up a meeting with parents on parent evenings and hand the report card to the parent and discuss the child’s progress and if there are any concerns. If a teacher or parent is concerned about a child progress a meeting can be arranged at any time.
- Programmes and activities are planned according to school’s calendar. Our themes are discussed on a weekly basis and all activities are done according to the theme.
- Activities include: Daily discussions, painting, drawing, cutting, pasting, textured arts; recycle waste construction, fine motor development, gross motor development, visual and audio discrimination and the learning of letter land.
